March 14
•    Arrival at the Brazilian Air Force base, in the outskirts of Brasilia.
•    Interview by the television network ‘O’Globo’, at the Cuban embassy residence.
•    Conversation held with outgoing President Jose Sarney during a dinner hosted by the former President in his honor, which was also attended by other invited presidents:  Carlos Andres Perez (Venezuela), Alan Garcia (Peru), Virgilio Barco (Colombia), Felipe Gonzalez (Spain), Patricio Aylwin (Chile), Carlos Menem (Argentina), Luis Alberto Lacalle (Uruguay) and Jaime Paz Zamora (Bolivia), among others, at ‘Granja del Torto’.
•    After concluding the dinner hosted in his honor, Fidel had a conversation with the Soviet delegation attending the inauguration of the new president, which was headed by Mircha I. Smegui, Vice President of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.

•    Visit to the O’Globo TV network headquarters.  Signing of a television cooperation agreement with the ‘Roberto Marinho’ Foundation.  Conversation held during a lunch with the Foundation’s president.
•    Meeting held with business people of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries, at the O’Globo TV network headquarters.
•    Visit to the residence of Leonel Brizola, ex-Governor and President of the Labor Democratic Party, at Copacabana.
•    Words of gratitude pronounced at the farewell dinner hosted in his honor by Governor Wellington Moreira, at the Laranjeiras Palace.
