The World Council of Peace grants the Federico Joliot-Curie Medal, highest award of that Council. The General secretary of the Council Presidency Romesh Chandra hands over the Medal, in his speech he highlights: “The medal is granted to you, for the inspiration and support you have always given to all the peoples in the struggle for freedom. It’s for Cuba for all Cuba has done for Vietnam, for the national liberation movements of Asia, Africa, Latin America, for all you have done for peace and security all around the world”.
